May 29th Issue

Psalm 16:8 "I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved."

Prayer list this week includes: Wayne Sanders and Christy Russell.

Birthdays this week include: Janelle Briant (May 31).  Happy belated birthday to Bobby Thompson (May 27). Happy anniversary to Bro. Billy and Glenda Wilson (June 2).

Storms are supposed to move in this week and hopefully relieve us of this long draught we're experiencing.

West Saline Community Center's board will be renovating the building's restrooms this Saturday morning, June 2, starting at 8am.  We will be repainting the rooms and doing some plumbing repairs.   Anyone who would like to join us is welcome to do so.

Macedonia Church's Memorial Day Service was a blessing. Air Force Sergeant Jeremy Grider and his family were honored with a potluck lunch, and all of us veterans in the congregation were asked to stand by the altar while everyone else sang "America."

Aubrey Huddleston hosted the Huddleston Reunion at his home last Sunday afternoon with many friends and family in attendance.

We Are The Eagles May 22

May 27 is Memorial Day weekend and Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church will have a potluck lunch to say "Welcome Home" to Jeremy Grider who returns from Afghanstan.

A salute goes to the men and women who helped unpack donated food for a food giveaway this Monday at the New Edinburg Community Center.  Ya'll did a good job.

Voting is this Tuesday.  You'll find the election results in this paper.  Good luck to all candidates.

Many of you remember Mrs. Martha Shaddock who taught Home Economics and Science at NEHS for the last few years; her husband and fellow teacher, Mr. James Shaddock passed away May 18.  He was well known in this area as a teacher, minister, and all around great guy.

We Are The Eagles May 15th edition

Birthdays this week include: James McClellan (May 18), Ronnie McClellan (May 18), Jerry Don Langford (May 19).

We missed a good chance of rain last week and are now entering into a dry spell.

Don't forget: the primary elections are next Tuesday. Vote, vote, vote!

The Mt. Elba community lost two natives last week with the deaths of Janelle Lisemby and Charles Langford. God go with both their families.

Sorry there was no column last week, but I had absolutely nothing on the table to report!

Strong storms moved through this area Monday night with just a few tenths of rain dropped.

This being an election year with many contested races, the election signs are popping up like daisies everywhere. Unfortunately, a few have been going missing around here and I just thought I'd mention that stealing a campaign sign is actually a crime in the state of Arkansas. I understand that some people get rather passionate about candidates, but there's no call for this sort of behavior.
