August 13th Edition

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10 KJV

Prayer list this week: I was told Betty Green is doing better, but keep her in prayer.

Birthdays this week include: Ollie Morning - August 13, Judy Moring - August 14, Sammy Pipes - August 15,  Kimberly Brown and Judy Perry - August 16, Zeb Beard - August 17, Easton Sinclair - August 18.

There will be a wedding shower for Jason Davis and Susan Young on August 18 at 6 p.m. in the Macedonia Free Will Baptist fellowship hall. They are registered at Wal Mart and J.C.Penney.

The Thompson Reunion will be August 25 at Reaves Cemetery and the Reaves Cemetery Homecoming will be the following day.  The Trammell Reunion will be there September 1.

Due to the fire behind Bo McClellan's house and the dry conditions, we're back under a burn ban until a lot more rain falls.  Ironically, the fire last weekend was started by lightning.

The Burks-Briant Reunion was held last Saturday at the West Saline Community Center with about 40 people in attendance.

We Eagles beg to inform you that a new addition to the New Edinburg Museum is in the form of something I had misplaced for a long time: an Eastern Star monitor that belonged to the late Mary Frey and was given to me by John Stewart years ago. It's in nearly perfect condition. Visitors to the Museum last weekend were: Joanna McClellan, Phoenix McClellan, Bo McClellan, Dale Williams, and the Bakers: John, Helen, Daniel, Maria, Brooklyn, Alyssa, Sissy, Rachel, Christopher, Trey, Philip, and Jenny, plus others who didn't sign the register.

If you have stuff you want in this column, please get it to me before Monday for inclusion in that week's column.   Go Eagles.
