Last Saturday saw the arrival of Kim and Tina Allen's grandchild Charlie. Congratulations to the Allen family.
The Broughton Community Choir will perform Sunday, July 3, at 7:30pm, at Sweet Union COGIC. All area churches are invited to attend. All musical participants are asked to arrive early at 6:30pm to help finalize the planning of the program. This event will be the conclusion of the Broughton Family Reunion this weekend.
Donations to the museum last week included an authentic WWII army raincoat complete with rank and unit patches possessed by George Barnett and donated by Mrs. Daisy Blackmon. Remember that the New Edinburg Museum will be open this Sunday from 1pm to 5pm to the public. The Museum is dedicated to preserving town and area history. It's located in what was the former 1st grade room in the West Saline Community Center.
The NEHS all school reunion is coming up soon. It will be July 9 at 10am in the cafeteria of the West Saline Community Center. All former students of the New Edinburg schools, teachers and families are welcome. It will be potluck.
The NEHS “Last Ten” reunion will be in the same place on September 17 from 4:30pm to 8pm. Planning is still in the works for that. If you graduated from NEHS from 1975 to 1985 or taught during that period you're invited. That's potluck too. I'll keep you apprised of further news.
Mrs. Jean Parrott hosted the Waters Cousins Reunion at her home last Friday through Sunday with 46 guests from Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, and Louisiana. She reports all had a good time with a fish fry on Friday and a potluck dinner on Saturday.
