August 6th Edition

Psalm 119:160 “Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.”

Birthdays this week include: Jacob Brown (August 6), Justin Lash (August 7), Jimmy Pennington (August 7), Termekia Smith (August 8), and Becca Cowan  (August 8).  Happy belated birthday to Reggie Wofford (July 31).

Here's August... and it's hot.  Right on schedule.  Everyone take care in this heat.

The Thompson Family Reunion will be August 24th at the Reaves Cemetery, and the Reaves Cemetery Homecoming will be the following day.

One more time: There will be a benefit for Amy Pilkington Murphy (daughter of Annette Miller Luff) at the New Edinburg Community Center on August 10th. Amy is suffering from cancer at the age of 28.  It starts with a washer tournament at 2pm, $20 per person with a cash prize to the winning team. Deadline for entry is July 31st. Contact Jennifer Hendrix. At 3pm, there will be a Gospel Explosion with Faint Yet Pursuing (Beech Grove Church's youth praise band) and New Reason. At 5pm, there will be a BBQ at $10 per plate. At 6pm there will be a live auction, and at 8pm there will be a live band the Pennington Brothers.  Please everyone come to this worthy cause.

Additionally, the Pilkington Cancer Benefit is raffling off chances for a $100 Wal-Mart gift card that will be drawn on August 10th.  See Kristen Skelton in the store; chances are $1 each and go to a good cause.

If you have stuff you want in this column, please get it to me before Monday for inclusion in that week's column. Go Eagles.
