Ms. Janet Rice and a friend of California visited her first cousin,
Henry Jones last Monday. They enjoyed a delicious lunch with Henry
& Rachel.
New Edinburg Baptist Church will have its annual Thanksgiving feast after services this Sunday.
New Edinburg Community Center will be having Santa Claus at the
Center on Dec. 7th, 8th, 13th, 14th, & 15th from 6pm until 7:30pm
each night. Santa will be passing out goodie bags to the kids & kids
can have their picture made with Santa. Also the night of the 8th , the
center will be hosting a Community Christmas potluck dinner starting a
5pm. Everyone in the New Edinburg and surrounding areas are encouraged
to bring your favorite dish of food and celebrate the season with a
night of food, fellowship & the joy of the season. All you need to

Huey Lodge #78 is hosting its annual Chili and Soup Supper on
November 17 starting at 4pm. The price is $7 per person whether you eat
in or carry out. Everyone is invited!
Dr. Laura Briant Evans,
formerly of New Edinburg and Dean of the School of Nursing at the
University of Arkansas-Monticello, was selected "Educator of the Year"
by the Monticello/Drew County Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Laura is a
daughter of Mrs. Jean Calvert Briant of Monticello and Warren and (the
late) John Franklin Briant.
